Das grüne Rad dreht gleichmässig.
Die Kurve ist xn/an + yn/bn=1 mit n >2, Also eine ausgebauchte Ellipse. (n=2 wäre eine exakte Ellipse, welche bei etwa 45° ausklinkt.) Eine weitere Schwierigkeit war der Einsatz von Normfräsern.
Die übliche Lösung funktioniert mit einer Kulisse, die durch Eis verstopft.

non linear gear
Bei der Winde geht es nur um die Seilführung. Das Problem ist es, eine Sinusbewegung (welche das Seil auf beiden Flanken anhäuft) in eine lineare Bewegung umzusetzen.
